About Baseplate Tools

Baseplate Tools is a free hub for people who make Roblox games: live game numbers, calculators with checked facts, a journal and an open-source analytics SDK. Not affiliated with Roblox Corporation.

What it is

Market shows live player numbers for public Roblox games; the tools answer everyday questions such as how much Robux turns into in money; the Journal explains the market; the analytics SDK (closed beta) shows a developer what happens inside their own game.

It is made by a small independent team that also makes Roblox games. Baseplate Tools is not affiliated with Roblox Corporation.

Where the numbers come from

Game numbers (players now, visits, favorites, likes) are the public numbers Roblox shows for each game. We measure tens of thousands of games again and again, the biggest about every 10 minutes, and keep the history ourselves; each game page says since when we have counted it.

Platform facts — the DevEx rate and minimum, the share Roblox keeps, Humanoid defaults — come from the Roblox documentation. Each fact on the Facts page links to its source and shows the date we last checked it.

Players' data

The analytics SDK runs on the game's server, is open source (MIT) and never loads code from outside. It sends the game's own events: each player's Roblox id and name, where they go in the place, how long they play, what they buy, script errors and other game events. We do not receive chat messages.

A game's player data is shown to that game's team. Our team can also see it in recordings of how the game dashboard is used, which we keep to fix the site. We do not link a player across games, and across games we only use totals. A player can be erased at the developer's request, for example after a Roblox Right to Erasure request.
